Is it worth it? ——————————————————————- update: I reformatted my computer all by myself…heh… so proud of myself, because i don’t know how to do it, i went on the HP website and there was live webchat troubleshooting for compaq presario users! Yeh..so i found out how to do it, and yay! The downside is…turns out my operating systems CD is chinese windows, so now i have chinese windows installed when i prefer english windows…>.< man…took me quite some time to understand all that technical chinese when i was reformatting! ^_^’ scared me quite a bit, for a while i was scareed i would erase everything from the comp and the comp would be a piece of useless metal forever… *touchwood* —————————————————————- |

looks like my computer is still very very sick… i thought i fixed it, but apparently not… i think its going to need some major surgery…reformat it…>.< ouch.
backing up is a pain. Wasting so much $, spend $10 to bu CDs for backup, and just realised that my $20 spent on antivirus was wasted because there is free antivirus at cornell. Going to try to ask for a refund. >.<

OUCH!! now it’s your turn?? you should be VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF!! i know how you feel when you can reformat the hard disk…because i felt the same when i did it the first time (until the hard disk crashed…and then total self-destruction :tired:)
formatting isn’t too hard now with Windows XP…just run setup and you can do everything there! so much easier than before..with all the FDISK and stuff
don’t think spending money on backup is a waste. you will find how grateful it is when you crashed the hard disk and lose all the data
i hate Chinese too….took so long how to do one thing!! at least good to know your computer is up and running again…WITH 40GB FREE SPACE!! if you really don’t have that much space…you may think of investing a portable USB laptop hard disk…very useful stuff i found!! =)
