hehe been updating too infrequently. this is quite bad since i was the retard that wrote ‘update xanga hehe’ on the stupid KGV grad book.

so what am i doing on a sunday night? quite sad really,…studying….hehe. while watching the us open at the same time. Agassi so hot as always.! my friend Feilu from Guangzhou who now lives in Queens in NY is going home next weekend and she saids if i want we can go see the open live. She can get her bf to get tickets. I’m SOOOO tempted! first time i might see Agassi in person! but of course, too expensive and i promised my parents i wouldn’t be wandering off to play in NYC la. i am going on a Wild camp with the HKCF (christian fellowship) on fri-sat tho, we’ll see how that goes! its going to be fun (i camping) but also freezing!

I think i really like college. Its so much freedom. I love being able to work out your own schedules, choose your own classes. I’m taking 5 couses, a total of 17 credits. Chem 357 (organic chem, cuz of my A-level credits), Bio 105 (intro course they won’t give me my credits GrrRRR), Econ 101, Nutrition 115 and A Writing Semenar. Fun! the books are so expensive. i bought a 2nd hand nutrition bk and its was $33 dollars cheaper. (US dollars) than the new one. So how much is the new one? $99 US! Chee sin. Clugston was only $300 HK, these bks are just crazy. Being See lai as I am, i do not like these books. Classes aren’t hard yet… hope they don’t get too much harder! But their maths is hard. I took Fmaths and i can’t do the elementary math course that my roomate is doing. But she knows like everything from P6. They did matrixes in junior year and know all the p5 integration. so the math is pretty scary, good thing me not taking it this semester.

Went to HKSA picnic yesterday. So many HK people! Met francine’s friend from USC. Met this girl from the CamTrad who knows Brono and Hugh and Char and Teresa. Met people who knew people who i knew. haha. the world is Small! took some pics but made the mistake of not bringing the CD here. I thought XP had all the drivers you need but apparently not. Oh well. Must remember to use my SD card for more pics.

the food here is really great. 5 star hotel buffet. Come visit me and i’ll treat you to a meal! I’ve been eating the Icecream every day. and the cornell brand milk. hehe. I feel the freshman 15 dawning upon me. But that’s ok.. good food mar! haha

heyo all!

in cornell right now! its so nice here. the scenery is amazing! the gorge is amazing but really scary if you are scared of heights! Walked around campus today with this girl i met… really amazing scenery!

the people here are really nice too. My roomate is from indiana. Catholic, really nice…really friendly. she’s damkn smart too! 720 + 750 for SATs… school record holder for 400m, recuited for track by cornell… whoo! then there’s this girl from canton. graduated from china high school 2 years ago, came to NYC knowing no english, then 2 years later…Boom…english better than mine! So scary.

and then there’s the whole hk gang… really friendly and being able to speak in cantonese with them is really cool. makes me feel less homesick. These upperclassmen have houses offcampus and its huge! i’m definately moving off next year, cuz its a third of the price but 10 times bigger!

anyways, hehe having a load of fun but that’s probably cuz classes haven’t started yet. i have a load of things to do tmr so i better be sleeping!

I’ll post pics of my dorm! my roomate brought a lot of stuff. TV, VCR, DVD…fridge…haha brilliant! (and she says i am free to use them…so yay!) I’m the luckiest ever…and i get an air-coned new dorm!

at the airport…saw abhi…. I’m in PCC right now… typing my last entry in HK la… tried out the wireless connection using the laptop but it doesn’t work…haha.

for those who are wondering, I am flying. In less than two hours i’ll be on the plane… to toronto la… *sigh.

I’m scared. Scared of adaptaTion, scared of meeting new people, scared of doing things that i have never done before.

There is this really cool quote on the PCC blackboard that i think is quite nice. “What you are afraid to do gives you a clear indication of the next thing you will do.” I hope this will happen to me! I need the courage to accept the new challenges ahead!

hopefully i’ll see you guys at christmas! I’ll have internet access all along so keep in touch!

wow last entry aug 6th…must be the longest time i’ve gone without xanga!

Hmm… today is the 18th. Happy birthday kavit! and belated birthdays to joyce and em. thank you all for being great friends!

Hmm…i’m leaving in 3 days, not too emotional yet since perhaps i’m over that phase. I dunno, its weird. I always cry at the wrong time. like when wanchai left i was really emotional in april…(wth) when she left in the summer i didn’t feel that bad. I think i’m weird.

Just started packing. Its a painful and stressful period. its like everyone has pms. ate dinner with cousins again, picked up new glasses (haha they look quite weird, they look kind of “inchy”, i’m thinking i won’t wear them, at least until i get to know more people at Cornell. Only my contact pose a problem too, i realised that i’m slightly cross-eyed so i don’t look good in cons. lala…haha…

Went to church today, with emily. First time in like 10 years! okok maybe 9. Quite interesting and inspirational! . Mom was going to go with me, but haha she couldn’t wake up in time.

the road to a friend’s house is never long.

i cried last night. The instant i turned from the mtr station, just as i knew noone else was looking. i didn’t care that the venders selling “fan ban” VCDs were staring at me. I am emotional, and i like to show it.

But. Life goes on.

haven’t been online for 2 days…around 70 hours. Ahaha what a record. i don’t think i have done that since the last time i went abroad on holiday.

hmm. what have i been up to? Friday i went to go very tiring community service, taking care of mentally disabled kids. Didn’t help that i had to wake up at 0630. hed to spoon feed them because they were unable to feed themselves, and also had to blow their noses etc. Hmm. there was also this really cute kid that stuck to me. Really cute, but doubly annoying. but i really appreciate how parents can be so “wai dai”. Having children is like gambling, not matter what you have to accept the odds. whether your child is smart/dumb/fat/thin/healthy/ill is not within your control.

then to carolyn’s leaving party. i’ve fallen in love with chilli and spice. Good luck caorlyn! You are my closest buddy…only 1 hour away! I will come visit! =)

sat was sumi’s bbq! Parents were really pissed that i was going out every day, so they made me an eye appointment (at 4, i was late). So i had to leave early and couldn’t see the historic moment of vto, liubakbak and cadence cycling! Ahhh! hehe oh wellz…

Eye appointment…i’m getting contacts la…only i look really werid without glasses so i probably won’t wear them much. But they are arriving on tuesday so we’ll see.

Remainder of the time on sat and today was spent shopping with parents (they keep complaining how i spend too little time with them. Purchased

–levis jacket! Ahaha the levis in grand century is on major sale this jacket was $539 now its $90. =) how great! too bad there was no fitting so i couldn’t buy any jeans.
-Whoot whoot new DC! Was deciding between the minto and the pentax optio S (the one mary has and i fell in with. pentax has more functions but minota has interal zoom and unlimited movie taking while pentax has a limit of 30s. (After watching dom’s clips, i felt movie lengths are quite impt! ). But in the end i got the pentax, cuz it is just so adorable! so cute…so small…hehe happy happy.
